Jerome Chiew

Jerome graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce in Information Technology at Curtin University.  He started working in the healthcare industry in 2004 as the IT manager for a pharmacy group, before moving to Melbourne for contract work with a healthcare provider.  He later moved back to Perth to start Critical IT in 2010, with a focus on providing a high level of service and expertise through the knowledge he’s gained in the industry. 

He is the current chair of the Australian Computer Society (ACS) WA branch and a certified professional in Cybersecurity.  He is also a committee member of Cura In-Home Care, an approved Aged Care Services Provider.  Being well versed in the various pieces of legislation, governance, standards and policies of the healthcare industry, with an understanding of clinical operations and clinical management, he imparts this knowledge to the Critical IT team.  Jerome also spends time mentoring high school students with EdConnect and emerging IT professionals in the ACS.

Hugh Owens

Hugh graduated from UWA with a Bachelor of Computer & Mathematical Sciences and has been working in the IT industry since 2010 in various Support, Systems & Consulting positions. He has worked in many industries including Architecture, Property, Mining, Law, NFP, Local & State Government and Medical.

Hugh spent 12 months living in Canada in 2018-19. In his time there he worked remotely for an Australian company, and for a Software as a Service Company based in Vancouver, honing his policy and process writing skills.

With previous experience working remotely, Hugh has played major roles in the design and implementation process of mass Work from Home transitions for various clients since the start of the pandemic, with a keen focus on security and integrity of company data. He has also been involvedin ISO27001 certification, the international standard for information security.
